Welcome to the webpage for Janet Miller, LRE Facilitator for 7th and 8th grade students.  I have been teaching special education in the Hanover district for 13 years, with my first year at Jane Ball Elementary and the remainder of my time at the middle school.  I am a graduate of Indiana University with a license in special education and a Master's Degree in education. Before becoming a special education teacher, I was a 4th grade teacher for 10 years.  I enjoy working with middle school students and helping them reach their full potential, whether in the resource room or general education setting.

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math in the resource room classroom, as well as providing support for IEP students in the general education.  Our paraprofessionals, Mrs. Carol Johnson and Ms. Lisa Tackett also work with students in the general education classroom, providing additional help for students and teachers.

We are able to use a block schedule this year, which gives students more time to have instruction and practice what they have learned. Due to the advantages of the block class, students who participate in the resource room math classes will generally not have homework. If I do assign extra practice I will be sure to check students’ agendas to be sure it is written down and they have the correct supplies to take home to complete the work.

Please feel free to email or call with any concerns regarding your child’s progress in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
