• Hanover Community School Corporation, Health Services Department

  • COVID Policy

    • If a student tests positive, they are required to quarantine for five days from the positive test date. The only exception is with a doctor's note stating different quarantine times.
    • Home tests, rapid tests, and PCR tests are acceptable. A picture of the home test with the student's name and date of test is required for excused absences.
    • The student has to be fever-free x24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, and improved symptoms to return on day six.
  • Over-The-Counter and Prescription Medications

    • All medications (both OTC and prescribed) must be brought to school by a parent/guardian. Students are not allowed to carry or possess medications on their person or in their locker. Violations of this rule will be considered violations of Policy 5530 and discipline will apply.
    • All medications must be in the original container with proper labeling.
    • A new Authorization for Medication and Treatment form must be completed and signed each year by the parent/guardian for any OTC medications (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, TUMS, etc.).
    • A new Physician Authorization Form must be completed in addition to the Authorization for Medication and Treatment form for any prescription medications.
    • For emergency medications such as Epi-Pens or asthma rescue inhalers, a Physician Authorization Form must be completed and signed by the physician in addition to the forms mentioned above.
    • It is recommended that, if at all possible, daily OTC and prescribed medications be scheduled either before or after the school day.
