  • Count me in!

From March 1 - April 1, 2020, a census will be conducted by the US Census Bureau.  The census provides vital information for you and our community.

Under Title 13 of the U.S. Code, the Census Bureau cannot release information about individuals, households, or businesses even to law enforcement agencies.

    • Communities rely on census statistics to plan for a variety of resident needs including new roads, schools, and emergency services.
    • It determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress.
    • Businesses use census data to determine where to open places to shop.

In the past, the census equated to $2,710 per person each year in federal funding.   The count is used by the federal government to determine the allocation of approximately $883 billion in federal funds, with $160 billion for programs to support children. This year, Indiana will receive about $18 billion in federal funding, with approximately $1 billion for K-12 programs.

You can participate online, by phone or by mail.  Please visit www.2020census.gov for more information and to get an email reminder.

    YOU count!  We ALL count!

It was brought to our attention that there is a company soliciting on behalf of our football team. The company, which is based out of California, is NOT authorized by the Hanover Community School Corporation to solicit for us. One victim has filed a police report with the Cedar Lake Police Department, and will, hopefully, be refunded.

Our students fundraise on behalf of the organizations they represent. No companies should call on the District's behalf.  This is a scam.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school directly or our Director of School Safety and Security, Michael O'Donnell at 219-374-3882 or modonnell@hanover.k12.in.us
