     Digital Citizenship

    Course Description

"Digital Citizenship" is an umbrella term that covers a whole host of important issues.  Broadly, it's the guidelines for responsible and appropriate behavior when one is using technology.  But specifically, we will cover anything from "netiquette" to cyberbullying; technology access and the digital divide; online safety and privacy; copyright, plagiarism, digital law, and more.  Digital Citizenship will also introduce the componenets and operations of computers.  Other areas covered in this course will be Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, E-mail, Keyboarding, and other digital 2.0 resources.

     Schoology-What is it?

Schoology -  is a learning management system (LMS) for K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and corporations that allow users to create, manage, and share content and resources.  We will be using Schoology in the 8th grade course to share, collaborate, and submit coursework.

     Google Classroom-What is it?

Google Classroom is similar to Schoology.  It is a different type of learning management system that 6th and 7th grade students in Digital Citizenship will be using daily.  We will be using this learning management system to share, collaborate, and submit coursework.
