Welcome to 8th Grade Science!
My name is Jessica LaLonde and I am beyond thrilled to be your child's Science teacher!
I am a new resident to St John having moved from Cedar Lake where we lived for 4 years and Lowell where we lived for 10 years prior. I have been married to my husband, Brian, for almost 15 years. We have 4 children in the school district. Ella is a junior, in Student Council, and on varisty cheer at HCHS. Tessa is a freshman at HCHS, in Student Council, and also on the tennis team. Tyler is here at the middle school this year as a 6th grader. Eli will be enjoying his first year at HCMS as a 5th grader. Both boys have been playing hockey since toddlers and also play lacrosse in the spring. Most of my evenings are filled with cheer and hockey practices! In my freetime, I enjoy listening to music, reading magazines, and doing home improvements.
I attended Crete- Monee High School and graduated in 1996. I earned my Associates of Art degree from Prairie State College and my Bachelors degree from Governors State University. My degree is In Elementary Education with a Middle School Endorsement specializing in Biology. After college, I worked at Wagoner Elementary School in Sauk Village, IL as a First Grade Teacher for 3 years. I then decided to stay home and raise my babies! After 5 years, I decided to slowly start back in teaching. I was a Kindergarten Instructional Aide at Lincoln for a year then worked in Griffith teaching Kingergarten and First Grade. Staying closer to home and earning my Indiana License consumed my last year while I was an Instructional Aide at Lincoln in First Grade as well as subbing in all grades.
