• What is Response to Instruction?


    Response to Instruction (RTI) is a multi-step process in which students are provided research-based instruction.  Students who are struggling in a particular area may be provided with instructions designed to meet their academic and/or behavioral needs while students who excel in a particular area may be provided additional learning opportunities.  Research-based interventions are strategies shown to be effective through research that are used to address specific skill deficits and enhance student learning.  Students� progress is monitored throughout the process in order to determine whether additional or different instructions are needed.   RTI typically involves a three-tiered model with increasingly intense interventions.
