eLearning

Hanover Community School will utilize eLearning days for 3 professional learning days and inclement weather to eliminate the need to make up excessive school days and provide continuity in the learning process.

All lessons are posted by 8:00 a.m. for Red Cedars, HCMS, and HCHS, and 9:00 a.m. for Lincoln and Jane Ball.

These will be available on Schoology or Google Classroom.

Red Cedars, HCMS, and HCHS will use assigned district Chromebooks. On inclement weather days, only K-2 will need to use their own personal devices.

The Schoology login is the same login information for all accounts students use at school. Parents may create their own Schoology account.

In severe weather, we will only have two consecutive eLearning Days.

If we have more than two days in a row, the administration will determine the remaining days.

All classes will have a 15-20 minute lesson. HCHS and HCMS will complete their regular enrolled courses. HCHS assignments will be no more than 45 minutes. Elementary lessons will include ELA, math, and all specials. Specials will be short 5-minute lessons. When possible, new material will not be assigned. All lessons will be composed of previous learning/spiral review based on grade or subject level based on the Indiana Academic Standards.

Assignments will be due the following school day, unless specified otherwise by teachers. * Exceptions may be made at grades K-3.

Attendance will be tracked by work completion. If work is not completed, the day will count as unexcused.

Buildings will not be open on the eLearning Days.

Staff will be available throughout the day and will get back to you in a timely fashion.

Cedar Lake and St. John Public Library have free internet and professionals who can help students.
