North White School Corporation visits Hanover
North White School Corporation visited Hanover Community School Corporation to observe the Response to Intervention (RTI) program at Jane Ball Elementary School. Nikki Bridges led our three guests through the RTI program from both the pull-out RTI classroom curriculum to the core classroom curriculum. North White was able to ask questions on how to further develop their RTI program. We are excited for the opportunities this will provide their students.

Never Give Up: BMX Rider Gives Anti-Bullying Talk
On Friday, October 20th, Jane Ball Elementary School and Lincoln Elementary School each had a special visitor. Matt Wilhelm, a record-breaking, professional BMX rider and motivational speaker, came to our schools for our annual anti-bullying assemblies. He is known for his fast-spinning and aggressive riding style.

Ten High School Students Recognized by the College Board
Hanover Central High School students received National African American Recognition Award (NAARA) and the National Hispanic Recognition Award (NHRA) are Alanna Epting, Ashton Orr, Ava Perez, Danniella Villarreal, Elizabeth Flores, Jerome Murphy III, Landon Sarkey, Macenzie Babbington, Neva Zamudio, and Penelope Hatfield.

The EMT class at HCHS offers a unique opportunity for students to embark on a path of life-saving knowledge and skills. With our dedicated instructor, hands-on training, and a strong community of learners, this program equips students with the tools and confidence needed to make a difference in emergency situations.

HLA Graduation 2023
On May 31, 2023, Hanover Community Schools graduated Hanover Learning Academy's first class of 40 students. Mrs. Bochnowski and Mrs. Ishmael helped create a magical ceremony to celebrate our Kitty Kat graduates.

New Admins at Hanover
Beginning the 2023-24 school year, we will have two changes affecting the district and Jane Ball Elementary. We welcome Mrs. Delgado and Mr. Misecko into their new roles and we say, "Thank you and farewell," to Mrs. Snedden as she moves into another district.

Hanover Bands Moves ISSMA Judge to Tears
Hanover Central High School bands performed at ISSMA at Kankakee Valley High School. Beginning band, intermediate band, and advanced band all put on fantastic performances on their prepared pieces and their sight reading pieces. Great job!

Art is Everywhere!
Lily Hernandez, 1st grader at Lincoln Elementary, loves art! The Hernandez family visited the Art Institute of Chicago and asked Mrs. Chambers for suggestions of what to see there. Lily was so excited to share all her adventures with her classmates and teachers.

Healthcare Career Expo
Our Hanover Central High School and Hanover Central Middle School students had the opportunity to visit the VicTory 4 Kidz Youth Healthcare Career Expo. Students got to talk to representatives and experience hands-on activities related to the healthcare industry. Many specialties and colleges were represented.

I'm NOT Just a Scribble
The week of Monday, March 27, 2023, Jane Ball Elementary School celebrated National Scribble Day based on the book "I'm Not Just a Scribble." Mrs. Shell and Ms. Lakomek teamed up to create a fun and educational lesson about kindness and acceptance of others.

Kristina Fleming was featured by RISE for her excellence in teaching entrepreneurship classes at Hanover Central High School. She explains how the RISE program works and how she got to be where she is today. Students gave feedback on what they enjoy about Fleming's class and what they have gained.

Veteran's Day at Hanover
On November 10th and 11th, all of the schools at Hanover hosted a Veterans Day Program. We had family and friends of students and staff that have served our country come to our schools to be honored. Schools performed songs, handed out gifts, provided refreshments, and heard the stories of our veterans.

Steered Straight
Michael DeLeon from Steered Straight spoke to the students of Hanover Central High School and Hanover Central middle school about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and vaping at a young age and in life. He shared his story of how he ended up in prison by making bad decisions in his youth.

Bear Down on Bullies
Staley the Bear, the official Chicago Bear mascot, visited Lincoln Elementary to teach our students how to "Bear Down on Bullies." We were taught different methods of how to avoid bullies, to no be a bully, help others that are being bullied, and how to deal with a bully.
