New Admins at Hanover
It is without a doubt that change is exciting, especially in the world of education and leadership. Beginning the 2023-24 school year, we will have two changes affecting the district and Jane Ball Elementary. Mr. Phil Misecko is the current principal at Jane Ball and will be moving into the position of Assistant Superintendent of Hanover Community Schools. Mrs. Rebecca Delgado is the current Dean of Students at Jane Ball and Lincoln Elementary Schools. She will be moving into the position of principal of Jane Ball Elementary School. Mrs. Deb Snedden will be moving out of her position as the Assistant Superintendent of Hanover Schools and into the role of Superintendent for Hammond Academy of Science and Technology (HAST).
Mr. Misecko is from Portage, IN, and graduated from Portage High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue and his Master’s from Indiana State University. Phil is married to his wife Debbie and has two daughters, Teague and Emma. He also has two dogs named Eleanor and Bailey.
Mr. Misecko likes to take walks and play golf with his wife. He loves country music and has seen Garth Brooks in five different states, one performance was at Notre Dame football stadium. He also loves to read all types of books. A fun fact about Mr. Misecko is that he, his wife, and his father built the house in which he currently lives in. The only thing that they didn't do was concrete and drywall. This project took them about 16 months, and he really enjoyed the experience.
When asked about his favorite thing about Hanover, he said, “There is so much! The leadership, the amazing students and staff, the awesome parents, and the community. Hanover is a great place!” He also expressed his excitement about his new role by saying, “ I am very excited to transition to the Assistant Superintendent position. I will work hard to do all I can to support and continue the growth in an already amazing district!”
Mrs. Delgado is from Whiting, IN, and graduated from Bishop Noll Institute. She has both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ball State University. Rebecca is married to her husband, Andrew, and together they have a daughter named Blakely. She loves spending time with her family, listening to crime podcasts, and traveling. A few fun facts about her are that she used to live in Florida and has been to Disney World more times than she can count!
When asked about her favorite thing about Hanover, Mrs. Delgado listed three things, “My favorite things about Hanover are that it has that small community feel, how supportive everyone is, and everyone has the students' best interest at heart.” She talked about her new role, “I am so excited to be the new principal at Jane Ball! It means the world to me to be able to serve the community where I live. It has been amazing getting to know the families of Jane Ball over the last year as Dean of Students. I am honored to lead a school with such hard-working students, an extremely dedicated staff, along with a supportive school community. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together for the students of Jane Ball!”
Mrs. Snedden has been with Hanover for ten years including four years as the principal of Jane Ball, one year as the principal of Hanover Central Middle School, and five years as the Assistant Superintendent. Mrs. Snedden told us that her favorite thing about Hanover is, “Working with this amazing staff and our awesome Superintendent. I have learned so much here at Hanover and appreciate the collaboration with staff, students, and families.” Also from Mrs. Snedden, “I am truly grateful for the countless learning experiences, valuable connections, and cherished memories I have gained here. The supportive and dedicated community within this district has made a lasting impact on me. I will always hold fond memories of the exceptional colleagues, passionate educators, and incredible students I had the privilege to work with. This school district has fostered an environment of growth, collaboration, and excellence, significantly shaping me personally and professionally. I am genuinely thankful for the opportunities and experiences that have enriched my career journey, and I will carry the lessons learned here with me into my new role. I am confident that the district will continue to thrive, providing a nurturing environment for all its students. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey, particularly Dr. Mary MacAulay, for her support and wisdom. I wish the district continued success in its commitment to education and fostering the potential of every student.” We wish Mrs. Snedden the best in her future at HAST and any other endeavors that may come. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to Hanover Schools.
